1. What do you enjoy most about blogging as an athlete?

I enjoy the fact that I will be able to tell my story to all my fans, family, and friends. It gives me the chance to reflect and collect my thoughts and to try and express what I am going through.

2. What’s the best moment of your sports career?

I have had some great races and a few brilliant runs where I was really “in the zone” but as of the last weekend of April of 2008 there is a clear winner. It was when I qualified for the Olympics games in Charlotte in front of a big crowd with my friends and family there. I knew I had done it as soon as I crossed the finished line. I knew that my performance was good enough and what a relief after waiting for years for one day of racing. I had never had so much on the line and the feeling of being able to come through under pressure and put down two fast runs was unforgettable.

3. What are you most looking forward to in Beijing?
I am looking forward to meeting many people outside of my sport from all over the world.

And of course the opening ceremonies and having my family there to watch the race.

4. Anything else we need to know about you?
They call me the Chilean Wonder. “They ” refers to the paddling community I have grown to love so much.
